  • Train.ED Consulting offers a comprehensive, three-day group training course for trainees responsible for safely moving locomotives/equipment for industrial railways.

  • Trainees will learn the General Operating Instructions (GOI), Canadian Rail Operating Rules (CROR), the Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations required for their specific industry, and more.

General Operating Procedures

  • Trainees learn standardized GOI procedures, communication, TDG, and switching for yards and industrial tracks.

  • The different types of locomotive air brake systems are covered, as well as the functionality and testing of the independent and automatic air brake systems.

  • Focus on consistent, safe work in non-main track territory.

Safe Track Switching Standards
  • Trainees master CROR requirements for non-main track territory.

  • Gain industrial tools to switch cars safely as required by provincial legislation.

CROR Certification

Upon completion of the course, trainees are certified based on their knowledge of procedures and safety factors, including appropriate rules, required for the safe movement of locomotives on non-main track.
